News and events News The Little Prince raised over £11,300 for children with cancer The Little Prince charity evening with Chulpan Khamatova raised over £11,300 for children with cancer in Gift of Life’s care. On 24 October 2018 the London public enjoyed a premiere of “The Little Prince”, a special programme based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, presented by Chulpan Khamatova, People’s Artist of Russia, famous theatre and film actress and a co-founder of the Gift of Life’s sister charity Podari Zhizn. The performance took place at St George's Hanover Square Church in Mayfair. The evening raised in excess £11,300 in aid of the children with cancer in Russian hospitals. The live music of organ (Olesya Kravchenko) and harp (Nadezhda Sergeeva) beautifully intertwined with the story of the Little Prince narrated by Chulpan. Musical pieces by renowned composers such as Marcel Lucien Tournier, Léon Boëllmann, César Franck and Mikhail Glinka. The musicians donated their time and performance to help children in need “Find joy in everything” – that was the theme of the evening. As Chulpan said: “This programme is intimate – it portrays all children in the care of Gift of Life and Podari Zhizn charity foundations as Little Princes in a way that every minute they may vanish and disappear if we do not try hard enough to save them”. All money raised will go towards purchasing the most effective cancer medications for children with cancer in Russia.
